Deadlines, probably one of the only things that I miss about school. I tend to work far, far better when I have a deadline.
I’m pretty sure that the only reason that the ‘Book, Pages and Pencils’ script got finished was that I told a bunch of people that I was going to get it done by a certain date.
So, if you hadn’t already have guessed, that’s what I’m doing now. The deadline has been set by my Travelcard. I now have one month to write, read through, rewrite and print a script of at least sixty pages. The Books script was around forty four pages and can be read here, if you wish.
I’ve got the first two pages complete (below), the two principal characters of the piece don’t have names at present so they are simply known as Guy and Girl. This is a recurring thing with my writing and I’ve actually been known to get names from people of whom I meet and I know I’ll never speak to again. These two pages, although the first two I wrote are actually from a scene somewhere near the end.
Anyways, below I have placed a photo of my self-imposed writing deadline and by the 4th of January I will hopefully have it all done. I will be placing updates on here and Twitter, I’m now going to get off the laptop and write some stuff down in my yellow legal pad. Most of my writing is handwritten and then gets further explored when I type it all up/ I am really hoping that this script get’s finish and if it does I might make it a recurring thing. And maybe if I write one that I am truly happy with I’ll get it made.
