The photographs featured in this blog post were taken in Southern Wales, with the majority of them taken in Cardiff and a few taken on Barry Island. Barry Island is also situated in South Wales. The last few photographs on this post were taken in Cardiff and the ideas for the poses weren’t actually meant for photographs of Andrew, but, were originally meant for my friend Azita. Both of these people have been featured on this blog in the past and I am placing links to those two posts below. Due to a slightly conflicting timetable during my time in Cardiff, Azita and I were unable to meet up. So I asked Andrew if he wouldn’t mind filing in for a couple of shots so that I could see whether they would work in future and they did I am glad to say and I will be using them again in future.

I am very happy with the photographs that I am placing on this post and I have a feeling that both Andrew and Cardiff will feature again on this photography blog. I am hopefully going to do another set of night time portrait with Andrew and I was going to write a travel blog post for Cardiff and Barry. I also think that I will at some point be photographing Azita again. I have a wedding coming this week in Blackheath. And I am very excited about that wedding because they have requested that the majority of images be taken with film cameras, primarily toy cameras, which is a different change of pace with my wedding photography which has always been safe because of always using a digital SLR.
Another strong reason that I wanted to take a few of the hotel room photographs was so that I could get over an aspect of my photography that has annoyed me slightly from looking at past blog posts and that was the white balance of the image. I have noticed that there are a few images on this blog where the colour balance is off so I wanted to do a shoot in artificial light to get used to looking out for it. I tend not to edit many of my photographs as I always feel that I should be able to get it right in-camera.
The camera that I used for both sets of shots was my Canon EOS 50D digital SLR and I used a single lens for all of the photographs featured. The lens that I used was my Canon EF 28mm f1.8 lens. This post only has six photographs on it due to Andrew not being the initial model for the ideas I had set out and also add the fact that he was on his way out.
