Event Photography | Details On Request

A couple of weeks ago I was photographing two events. Both were organised and carried out by [Details On Request]. Click the link to be taken through to their website. I was photographing the events that they had arranged for Friday and Saturday. On Friday the event was an interactive library with a book swap and some public reading. The interactive library moved around East London starting at Hoxton Square going through Old Street and ending up in Brick Lane. This particular event aroused quite a bit of interest from passersby in London that day. They found themselves interested by the man reading out loud outside Liverpool Street Station and the two girls holding up signs saying ‘Interactive Library’.

Saturday’s event was called ‘Art In The Park’ and it was a day of art and also as the name of the event tells you it was in a park. It mainly consisted of performance art and spoken poetry in London Fields. There was also face painting for anybody who happened to want it. Again this event was situated in East London. Both days ran from about 11 in the morning till 6 in the evening and I have to say I had quite a lot of fun photographing these events and meeting the people involved in the whole process, from the artists to the curators. These events were alot of fun to photograph

I applied to take photos for these events through the website artshub.co.uk. I have placed a link to this photography blog on the bottom of my application and was contacted a short time later and was told that they had a look at the photo blog and liked what they saw. Which was a nice compliment, I thought.

I have included 14 photographs with this post. All were taken with the Canon EOS 50D using the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8, I would like to add that these photographs were taken before I decided to stick to my prime lenses. I have placed an even amount of photographs from both days. The first 7 will be from Friday [the interactive library and reading] and the next 7 will be from Saturday’s Art on the Park event.

If you are interested in who [Details On Request] are and what it is they do. Or you would like to see more of what their work and you would like to get in contact with them then feel free click the link below.
