Music Photography | Jason Olveira

The images on this post were taken of my friend Jason Olveira as he was performing at the Fox and Firkin in Lewisham. I had photographed Jason before on my digital so I wanted to try something different. So instead of taking the Canon I decided to take a film SLR that I had recently purchased. Which was an Olympus OM-10. A nice film camera that was aperture based. Which means that you set the aperture and it does everything else for you. I was really unsure how the photographs would come out as I was giving up most of the control to the camera.

But nevertheless I picked up some Fujifilm Neopan 800 ASA film and headed out of the house. The gig went really well and two weeks later when I got the film back I was really pleased with the results. They are some of the best gig photos I have taken. As you can see below the camera did it’s job beautifully.

I have included seven photographs with this post. Among the shots that I have included, there are some that were taken on the same night and although they are not music photographs, they are still shots that I took that night that I was proud of.
